Three ways to be part of Lai Yuen

Choose the level of involvement that suits your situation — from a weekly social circle to a full, comfortable residence with everything arranged.

How we think about it

Our overall approach

At Lai Yuen, plans are arranged around the individual rather than around an administrative category. Some people want the security of a full residence with meals and housekeeping handled; others simply want a reliable social anchor two or three times a week. Both are entirely valid, and we try to make it easy to find the right starting point — and to adjust if circumstances change.

Small group gathered for tea and mahjong

Plan 1

Companion Circles

Small social groups that meet through the week for tea, card games, mahjong and shared stories. A host holds the room rather than running the group — there is no pressure to join in, perform or fill a role. This plan is particularly well-suited to older adults who live independently nearby but who value regular, easy company.

  • Weekly sessions, flexible days
  • Mahjong, card games, conversation
  • Small, familiar group — never a crowd
  • No obligation to participate every session

Monthly fee

HK$960 / month

Plan 2

Cultural & Recreation Studio

A weekly programme of calligraphy, Cantonese opera listening, gentle music sessions and craft afternoons, run in a light-filled studio where residents choose what suits their mood. The studio coordinator follows the interests of the group rather than a fixed curriculum — sessions change as tastes and energy levels shift through the months.

  • Calligraphy and brushwork afternoons
  • Cantonese opera listening and discussion
  • Gentle music and craft activities
  • Light-filled, accessible studio space
  • Programme shaped by resident input each quarter

Monthly fee

HK$2,140 / month

  • Furnished room with personal space
  • Housekeeping and laundry included
  • Full Cantonese dining, three meals daily
  • All social circles and studio sessions included
  • Garden access and shared common areas
  • One clear monthly amount, no hidden extras

Across all plans

Standards that apply to everything we do

Data privacy

Personal information is handled according to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486). We collect only what is needed and do not share it without consent.

Safe, accessible spaces

All areas used by participants — whether studio, pavilion, dining room or garden — are maintained to Hong Kong safety standards with accessible routes throughout.

Honest communication

If something is not working or if a plan is not the right fit, we will say so plainly. We would rather help someone find a better arrangement than hold onto a placement that is not serving them well.

Not sure which plan is the right starting point?

That is perfectly normal. A short conversation with our team usually makes things much clearer — no paperwork, no commitment, just an honest discussion about your situation.
